About a week ago, our dishwasher got stuck on the drain cycle. I pulled out the drain filter and could see water in the bottom of the drain. With the power on, the water emptied out, but the pump still ran continuously. When I turned the power off, all the water came back and filled up the bottom.
Several hours later, after pulling the dishwasher out and disconnecting the power and water supply, I found that the drain hose had kinked and had somehow developed a hole. Water had been leaking through the cabinets and accumulating on the floor and emptying out through a small hole into the crawlspace below our house.
I cleaned it out, bleached it and will let it sit for a few days in the hopes that it may dry out. New drain hose should be here this week.
If you have any hint of water accumulating under your sink, pay close attention and don't let it go. Could turn into a real problem.
